Construction Technology of Bored Secant Piles under the Soil-Squeezing Effect of Pipe Piles in Muddy Geology
After bored secant piles were introduced from abroad and recommended to the Shenzhen Metro, extensive engineering practice has established them as a highly mature retaining structure for foundation pit support in China. They have been widely promoted in deep foundation pit projects for urban structures such as metro works, underpass roadways, and high-rise buildings. Due to their inherent construction characteristics, bored secant piles are suited to strata with unfavorable conditions such as mud, running sand, and groundwater enrichment; however, in high-stress zones of muddy geology, controlling the formation of bored secant piles is extremely difficult. Taking the deep foundation pit construction of the four major underpass passages in the Hangzhou East Railway Station expansion project as a case study, this paper focuses on analyzing the causes of hole-formation difficulties and the "floating pile" phenomenon of bored secant piles under the soil-squeezing effect of pipe piles in muddy geology, and presents treatment measures.
