A Brief Discussion of Several Approaches to Determining the Characteristic Value of Foundation Bearing Capacity

The characteristic value of foundation bearing capacity refers to the values of foundation bearing capacity and single-pile bearing capacity adopted in calculations for the serviceability limit state. When determining foundation bearing capacity, in addition to ensuring the strength and stability of the foundation, the settlement and differential settlement of the building must also be controlled. There are numerous influencing factors in this regard, including the properties of the foundation soil, external loads, the type of foundation, embedment depth, and groundwater, all of which have a direct impact on the magnitude of bearing capacity. Foundation bearing capacity directly affects the safety and serviceability of buildings. Based on considerations of safety and serviceability, this paper analyzes and discusses the approaches to determining foundation bearing capacity.

Analysis and Study of the Characteristic Values of Bearing Capacity of Q2 Paleosol Foundations
